Who is Jesus Christ?

Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand.  By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. Whether, then, it is I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed.

1Corinthians15:1-11

Jesus Christ is the one who brought the gospel. The first quote is where the Bible speaks about the Gospel. This word was written by an evangelist named Paul. He had never met Christ in his lifetime and was a violent persecutor of Christians, but at one point he met Christ who was resurrected after his death in the crucifixion and was transformed into a believer in Christ. Paul has left many letters in the New Testament.

According to the Bible, Jesus Christ is God and the Son of God. He came to the world to atone for the sins of us and to give us eternal life.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John16:3

The Bible says that God is love. God's love, the greatest love in the world, came to the world in the form of a man named Jesus Christ.

At the beginning of creation, in the garden of Eden God gave everything to man. It was because of the relationship of love that God created people. God told people, "You can eat at will from any tree in the garden, but you must not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. When you eat from that tree, you will die."  However, Satan, who looks like a snake, told a lie, "Eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil will not kill you and you will be like God." Man and woman lost their trust in God, believed in Satan's words, and ate their fruits. At that time, sin and death entered the man and woman.

Sin is a deviant nature from God. God is love. It is a sin that it is not love. Envy, jealousy, amorousness, swearing, these sins break relationships with people. Crime and war are also the result of this sin. Also, people were given life as beings who never die at the beginning of creation. However, after a person betrayed God, all living things began to die.

It was Jesus Christ that God gave as the Savior from this sin and death. Jesus Christ died for the sins of all of us. Just as crime has punishment, sin comes with punishment. Jesus Christ died on the cross instead of us so that we could no longer be guilty and have a relationship with God .

In July 1941, an escaper emerged from Auschwitz, a Jewish camp. Ten prisoners were selected for retaliation and decided to be killed in an underground pit. Among them was a man named Franciszek Gajowniczek. He mourned and said, "Will my children and wife never see me again?"

Then a Poles stepped forward and said. "I'm a Catholic priest. I have no wife or children, so kill me on his behalf." His name was Maximilian Kolbe. He was 47 years old.

The ten people who were taken to the underground pit sang prayer hymns under the guidance of Father Kolbe, and the underground pit became like a church. They were poisoned and died.

The Pope described the death of Father Kolbe as "a victory similar to that of Jesus Christ." That is because Father Kolbe's death was a substitute death.Franciszek Gajowniczek traveled around the world, telling  that Maximilian Kolbe had died on his behalf.

The death of Christ was exactly our substitute death.

If a parent who truly love their children is said, "Your child have to be punished in hell because  he has sinned.", He or she may say "I get punished on behalf of my child."

God has judged that we deserve love. God has acknowledged infinite value to us so much that he is willing to throw away his life. God says in the Bible, "Because of the cross of Jesus Christ, I no longer remember your sins." God's love is far greater than our sins.

The power of God's forgiveness far surpasses human sin. The cross is the crystal of God's love.

Christ healed all illnesses in his lifetime and forgave all sinners.

When people tried to judge the sinner, he protected her by saying, "Innocent man can throw a stone at this woman first." And he said, "I will not condemn you either."

Believing in Christ is to give forgiveness and love to others as Christ did to us. It frees you from binding. Christ was also resurrected three days after he died on the cross. Christ destroyed death. The source of life is God. God has restored life again.

God said that he promises eternal life to those who believe in Christ. It was Christ who transformed physical death into the dawn of hope for a resurrection rather than the end. Christ completely defeated evil on the cross.

Satan always tells us lies in the same way as he did in Eden. He make people doubt that God loves us and that God is true and gives grace. However, hope is promised to us because Christ has already won evil.

God promises in Isaiah chapter 54:

So now I have sworn not to be angry with you, never to rebuke you again.

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed," says the LORD, who has compassion on you.

God loves us with love that goes beyond our understanding.

Have you ever been overwhelmed by the beauty of the sunset or the sunrise?
Its beauty represents a small part of the love of its Creator, God.

Christ is not dead. He is alive now.

He is alive at this moment, waiting for you to run and come back to him with his arms outstretched.
